Samdech Kittisangahapundit Men Sam An, Supreme Advisor to the King and President of the Cambodian Women’s Association for Peace and Development, was invited to preside over a meeting with leaders and officials of the Ministry of Women’s Affairs to celebrate the 114th anniversary of International Women’s Day, March 8, 2025, under the theme “Rights, Equality, and Empowerment for All Women and Girls.”

On the afternoon of March 6, 2025, Samdech Kittisangahapundit Men Samon, Supreme Advisor to the King and President of the Cambodian Women’s Association for Peace and Development, presided over a meeting with leaders and officials of the Ministry of Women’s Affairs to celebrate the 114th anniversary of International Women’s Day, March 8, 2025, under the theme “Rights, Equality, and Empowerment for All Women and Girls” at the Ministry of Women’s Affairs.

The ceremony was attended by Her/ His Excellency, Leaders, Officials, Contracted Officials, Retired Officials, Member of the Capital Council, Deputy Mayor, The heads of the provincial women’s affairs departments number more than 519.

During the meeting, Samdech Kittisangahapundit expressed appreciation for the leadership of Her Excellency Dr. Ung Kanthaphavi, Minister of Women’s Affairs, as well as leaders and officials at all levels of the Ministry of Women’s Affairs who have contributed to leading and coordinating, especially promoting gender mainstreaming work by sector, preventing gender-related violence, and participating in improving the status, status, and role of women and girls in the economic, social, political, and governance sectors, especially the effective and proactive implementation of the eight key recommendations of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

On that occasion, Samdech Kittisangahapundit requested the Ministry of Women’s Affairs to continue its efforts to promote gender equality and strengthen the empowerment of women and girls through collaboration with ministries, state institutions, competent authorities, local authorities at all levels, the private sector, development partners, national and international non-governmental organizations, and all civil societies in expanding the scope of legal protection services, social services, strengthening and increasing knowledge, professional skills, strengthening economic development, moral education and good manners for men, women, and children, as well as the leadership of women and girls, so that they become resources with dignity and the potential to fully participate in the development of society and the nation, towards achieving Cambodia’s sustainable development goals, and contributing to achieving Cambodia’s vision for 2030 and 2050.

Her Excellency Dr. Ing Kanthaphavi, Minister of Women’s Affairs, also said that today’s meeting with leaders and civil servants of the Ministry of Women’s Affairs was organized to highlight the importance of achieving and implementing rights, promoting gender equality, and increasing the empowerment of all women and girls in Cambodia to benefit from the gender dividend for promoting economic growth and social development.
